Cornwall – what’s going on in June and July?

For those of you who love a good agricultural show, it’s the Royal Cornwall Show (8th-10th June 2017) this week! Held near Wadebridge every year, it’s a great day out for animal lovers, foodies and those looking for some retail therapy and well worth a look if you are in the area this week.

June and July are big months in Cornwall for outdoor events, thanks to the (mostly) glorious weather we are blessed with! Enjoy a regatta? The Looe Lugger Regatta is happening this week too (from the 9th–11th June).  Saltash Regatta, held close to Ryelands B&B, will be on from the 17th–18th June.  If music is more your thing, why not head to the Polperro Music Festival (from the 10th-18th June) and enjoy their arts and crafts fair, village carnival and bonfire – as well as plenty of music, obviously!

Two upcoming events that we can highly recommend are Mevagissey Feast Week (25th June-1st July), which celebrates the feast of St. Peter (as it has done since 1754).  There are numerous events going on throughout Feast Week, including a carnival parade, fete, musical concerts, fireworks and a raft race.  For more information, head over to the Mevagissey Feast Week Facebook Page (look up @MevaFeastWeek) for the latest information and a link to their downloadable event guide.

We also highly recommend Port Eliot Festival (27th-30th July) in St. Germans.  The event is an eclectic and fun-filled festival bringing together food, art, fashion, workshops and wellbeing, as well as music (everything from Brass bands to ‘Synth-Pop’!).  For more information about the festival, please head over to their website:
